I am a middle school Language Arts and History teacher, in my 20th year in education and my 18th year in the classroom. I have a bachelor’s degree in English (with an education minor in history), and a master’s of education in Curriculum and Technology. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Digital Education Leadership from Seattle Pacific University.

Previously, I have served as the educational technology facilitator at York County School District in Virginia. Currently, I teach in Port Orchard, Washington as part of a co-teach team, working side by side with a special educator to teach 8th grade English classes.

In addition to teaching, I also serve on my building AVID committee and help train other teachers in my district in the co-teach model. I am passionate about using educational technology to increase equitable access to education for all students, with a focus on students in particularly often overlooked groups.

I post about my graduate studies, neurodiversity, and teaching middle school informally on Tiktok (@BooksandMrsBush) and more formally on Twitter (@BooksandMrsBush)
