ISTE Standards for Coaches
Meeting Standard 4.4 Learning Designer
ISTE coaching standard 4.4 encourages inclusion and innovation. Coaches work with teachers to create learning experiences that engage all students. To work with educators effectively, coaches must both model inclusive lessons, tools and programs, while also supporting teachers as they work to do so themselves.
This focus on ensuring that digital educational environments are inclusive touches on the issue of ensuring equitable access to learning for all students, and begins with seeing, acknowledging, and valuing the diversity in our schools. Digital tools provide opportunities to differentiate learning to the specific needs of learners, and open access to diverse learning tools that are most effective when educators are competent and comfortable using them effectively.
