Evaluate the impact of professional learning and continually make improvements in order to meet the school wide vision for using technology for high-impact teaching and learning.

ISTE STANDARDS FOR COACHES

Professional learning is a process not a product. This process incorporates ongoing learning, feedback, reflection and continual improvement in an effort to ensure that educators are at their most effective. The addition of technology to this ensures that the process never ends because technology itself constantly changes and updates.

I examined the evaluation component of this standard in a 2021 post about evaluating the technology by which professional learning occurs. The methods by which technology used for trainings is evaluated and procured consists of a variety of processes and rubrics that standardize decision making to ensure it is both consistent and in alignment with district values and visions. Similar rubrics exist for evaluating the technology used to impact learning and accessibility for students, a concept I outlined in the post Evaluating Inclusive Technology in the Classroom.
