Meeting Standard 4.6: Data Driven Decision Maker

One of the lessons I’ve learned while researching in this program is that sometimes the decisions we make as educators are less based on data than they could be, and that decisions made using data that applies to our specific student populations can lead to more effective teaching and learning. Further, that when we provide students opportunities to access their data and the skills to interpret and use it in goal setting and reflection, we increase student agency and engagement.

This is where ISTE coaching standard 4.6 comes into play. This standard specifically addresses the ways in which we can improve educational environments, instruction, and learning through the effective use of data.
