Collaborate with educators to design accessible and active digital learning environments that accommodate learner variability.

ISTE STANDARDS FOR COACHES

Accessible Active Learning

Technology plays a complicated role in accessible active learning environments. It can be a useful tool for increasing accessibility, but poor use can result in greater hurdles for learners who already struggle. Technology coaches help teachers view the nuances of technology use and find ways to build on the strengths technology brings and avoid the pitfalls.

In September 2021, I wrote about collaborating during uncertain times. In this post, I examine the ways educators can build inclusion into digital learning environments. Because the environment is technology-based, educators have additional possibilities to build inclusion into the design. For example, online courses and learning management systems allow more seamless ways to incorporate multiple means for showing understanding.
